Our Mission

Brown Like Me helps Black youth and their families connect to their culture and develop a sense of belonging by creating a community of people that look like them and reflect who they are.

Brown Like Me is a volunteer-driven organization run by a board of parents and other community leaders who recognize that, in a region where Black people are underrepresented, Black children deserve to be celebrated, have access to mirrors who look like them, and learn more about and love their Black culture.

Brown Like Me was founded by Shari Baber.
